Psalm 42

5 Why, my soul, are you downcast?

Why so disturbed within me?

Put your hope in God,

for I will yet praise him,

my Savior and my God.

6 My soul is downcast within me;

therefore I will remember you

from the land of the Jordan,

the heights of Hermon—from Mount Mizar.


Say aloud

I will remember You and praise You, my Lord and my saviour.

Points to meditate

Antidote for depression is to meditate on the Word of God. This will take your mind off the present situation and give hope that it will . It focuses on God's ability to help you Rather on your inabiloty to help yourself. Psalm 42 is an antidepressant. 

Prayer

Lord, please have mercy on me, a sinner. Help me to lead a blameless life. Let no corrupt communication proceed out of my mouth. Let Your presence always be with me. Lord, help me today and forever. Apart from You, I can do nothing. In Jesus name, Amen.
